Gerrit Quaremba
I am a second-year PhD student in Computer Science at King’s College London and Imperial College London, aligned with the
Safe & Trusted AI CDT and
PHAWM.
I am advised by
Elena Simperl,
Elizabeth Black (KCL), and
Denny Vrandečić (Wikimedia).
My research focuses on how AI can improve
verifiability on Wikipedia
(i.e., ensuring that claims can be fact-checked using authoritative references) with the goal of supporting
(not replacing (!)) editors in applying this policy.
Toward this goal, I am interested in LLM-generated text detection, automated fact-checking, and natural language explanations.
I am currently studying models for detecting
claims that require citations
across multiple languages, as well as training models to explain why a claim needs a citation.
Previously, I obtained my master’s degree from the London School of Economics and worked as a research fellow at Harvard,
Durham University, and the University of Cologne.
In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis and watching football, Formula 1, and tennis, especially my favorite player,
Jannik Sinner.
